Built for Larger Hot Water Requirements

The A.O. Smith HAS-X series is designed for customers who need higher storage capacity. With 35 L and 50 L options, the range provides flexibility for different household hot-water requirements while retaining the same horizontal design and core technologies.

The horizontal format can be particularly useful where available wall height is limited or where the water heater needs to be installed in a compatible loft or above a false ceiling.

Blue Diamond® Glass-Lined Inner Tank

The HAS-X uses A.O. Smith's Blue Diamond® glass-lined tank. This protective lining is designed to provide longer tank life, including in tough water conditions.

For a high-capacity storage water heater that regularly holds heated water, durable tank construction is an important part of long-term performance.

Glass-Coated Incoloy Heating Element

Both HAS-X capacities feature a glass-coated Incoloy heating element. A.O. Smith specifies this construction as resistant to scale formation and designed for long-lasting heating performance.

The 35 L and 50 L models use a common 2000 W heating system operating at 230V~/50Hz.

Adjustable Temperature Control

An easily accessible temperature control knob allows the water-heating temperature to be selected according to the user's preference.

The official HAS-X documentation specifies a selectable bathing-water temperature range of 25°C to 75°C, providing flexibility for different hot-water requirements.

High-Density PUF Insulation

HAS-X uses high-density PUF insulation around the storage tank. The insulation is designed to reduce heat loss from stored water and support efficient operation.

This is particularly relevant in larger storage water heaters, where maintaining the temperature of the stored water helps reduce unnecessary reheating.

Long-Lasting Anode Rod

The HAS-X range incorporates a long-lasting anode rod as an additional tank-protection measure. A.O. Smith states that this anode rod provides twice the lifespan of a normal magnesium anode, including in hard-water conditions.

Together with the Blue Diamond® glass lining, it forms part of the water heater's internal tank-protection system.

8 Bar Rated Water Pressure

Both the 35 L and 50 L models have a rated water pressure of 8 bar. This allows the HAS-X series to work with compatible pressurised plumbing systems.

The actual installation should always follow A.O. Smith's instructions and be checked against the water pressure and plumbing conditions at the property.

Double Protection for Everyday Operation

A.O. Smith equips the HAS-X with two important safety mechanisms: a thermal cut-out and safety valve.

• Thermal Cut-Out: Provides an additional temperature-related safety mechanism.
• Safety Valve: Forms part of the water heater's pressure-safety system.

Horizontal Installation Flexibility

The HAS-X has a horizontal cylindrical construction intended for installations where vertical space may be restricted. A.O. Smith positions the model as suitable for compatible loft and false-ceiling installations.

The series is available with right-hand side and left-hand side inlet/outlet configurations. The appropriate configuration should be selected according to the plumbing arrangement at the installation location.

Choose Between 35 L and 50 L

The HAS-X series gives customers two high-capacity storage options:

• 35 L: High-capacity storage in a shorter horizontal body.
• 50 L: Additional hot-water storage for households with higher requirements.

The two models share a 395 mm body height and 408 mm depth, while the 50 L model is longer to accommodate the additional storage capacity.
